Appropriate research method to analyze various data in architecture is one of the researchers' challenges in this field. The most important point in this area is finding a way to promote the researcher potency for using simultaneously case studies and the literature. This can be done in the methods that are based on the context of architecture and try to construct a theory from it and analysis of the literature. Perhaps In some cases, the hypotheses obtained during the investigation. Therefore, several solutions have been presented that one of the successful examples is grounded theory. Grounded theory is a method based on the data derived from the context and its systematic analysis in front of other theories. This paper tries to present the capabilities of this method in base on current researches in various fields. For this, by comparative studying various research, principles, disciplines and the process of grounded theory will be identified. What is important for researchers in analysis of this method is considering the stages and the guiding principles of a grounded theory research that are hierarchically accomplished.
